Learn why our area is a biodiversity hotspot!
From our meeting location at CPI headquarters (46 Kinsey Road, Crawfordville), we will hop in our CPI passenger van and begin a lovely round trip day excursion to our Apalachicola Lowlands Preserve, and back, while making many stops along the way. This tour is a first offering, and we are very excited about it. All day we will focus on observation and discussion of as many insect-devouring plant species that we can delight our eyes upon. We will experience several species of pitcherplant, sundews, butterworts, and bladderworts. Learn all about their ecology and discover why our region is so biologically diverse with carnivorous plants. There will be plenty of opportunities for photographers!
The $75 fee includes transportation, and complementary drinks/extra water. It also includes CPI president Ryan Means, who will be your fearless, friendly, and expert educational guide. You should bring shoes you can get wet, insect repellant if you desire, and perhaps some sunscreen. Proceeds go towards our efforts to preserve the biodiversity of the southeastern Coastal Plain.
Contact Ryan directly if you should have any questions. 850-544-5661 or ryan@coastalplains.org (Ryan prefers that you text him. Please state who you are in the text)
Cancellation Policy: If we have to cancel for weather or any unforeseen reason, we can place you on a priority wait list for another equivalent tour or ecoadventure, apply your tour fee as a CPI donation, or issue a refund. If you must cancel for whatever reason, we kindly ask that you consider your payment a donation to CPI in support of all our conservation work. 😊
